This is the western form of the Australian Raven (Corvus coronoides) and some authorities beleive it now deserves to be given species status rather than just a form of the Australian Raven. Like all five of your (current) Corvus species, young birds have brown eyes and only develop the white iris after a couple of seasons. Handsome and intelligent birds like all the worlds crows.
When I first moved to Freo, I heard these guys calling from the trees, and had no friggin idea what I was hearing. All of the other Canadian and Americans had various theories of hybrid Aussie sheep cats roaming the tree tops, until we realized it was a crow!
Back home, they make a caw sound. I much prefer these guys.
