@012013014 You'd be amazed how many 80s and early 90s Japanese metal bands are still together. Onmyouza isn't quite that old, but still dozens that are that old stayed together which is awesome! :3

i thought that japanese already stop their metal genre at 80s....its good to see them still available.....rock on!!

@dudewhosaysarrh yo, I take it back. I totally realize the progressive influence in a lot of their songs.

I fucking love japanese metal, I would catagorize most japanese metal bands as 'stuck in the 80s' not at all a bad thing; in fact its great and familiar. I like this band, I think they are pretty good, its a nice change of pace. I have to say that my favourite japanese band is either mastermind or Galneryus.

dude, NWOBHM and Thrash influences are totally apparent in a lot of their songs, more so than progressive rock. The only thing that makes it have 'traditional japanese elements' is the way they play the minor scale, their lyrical content and image. Very little of their songs actually have a Japanese instrument playing

actually, Onmyouza play a curious mixture of metal and progressive rock, mingled with traditional japanese elements. There are some straightforward metal songs, but there are also some songs that can't be categorized, since the styles used within the same song range from metal, over pop and rock to jazz. "Real"Japanese metal is probably something that is anything but progressive or experimental, in short something that the fascist "grailkeepers of trueness" approve of ;-)

Those are all really good bands too and Onmyouza aren't that bad either. It's just that Onmyouza have a more theatrical presentation of their music you know? That's why they have varying vocal styles
agreed...this album is EPIC and beautiful!!!
