one thing everyone needs to realize is that cops are reactive, not proactive. EVERYONE should own a gun for home protection. cops cannot get to your home in time to save you when it only takes a couple of seconds to kick a door in or go through a window or whatever. some people will kill you for no reason other than to kill you even if you are unarmed and comply with what they want. don't put your life in the hands of someone else and keep a gun in your home, handy, and no how to use it.

its so great to hear something like this, instead of something horrible. this is relieving

@TheArmedCitizen I respectfully disagree because in most, if not all states, criminal statutes include modifiers such as "attempted murder" or "attempted 1st or 2nd degree intentional homicide, 1st or 2nd degree attempted reckless homicide etc. In this case, the armed citizen is considered a victim if the suspect was charged with one or more of the previously mentioned charges.
NOTE: Terminology and language of state statutes and criminal code may very from state to state.

Great Story! Bad Guys should be afraid of the Good Guys not the other way around. Think about you're daily activities and identify the most dangerous parts of your day. Then be ready to defend yourself and your family.

Wichovia posts "NO GUNS" signs at all of their branches.
Thank God this guy was actually armed.
Why would a gun owner patronize an anti-gun bank? No gun owner should be a Wichovia customer.

@TheArmedCitizen - I disagree. The [armed] man was the victim of an attempted robbery. Even if he ended up dismembering all of the ROBBERS, he's still the [unwilling] victim of a robbery. If he's not the "victim," then what is he? Just some unlucky guy that ran into a group of armed robbers? No, he's the victim of their robbery. At least, he was for a split second there.

Wow. Actually called the armed citizen the "victim".

@Naterstein There's an ongoing debate about who the victim is in these situations. You can't call the armed citizen a victim, because by pulling his gun, he denied the perp's ability to inflict that label on him. Yet you can't call the bad guy a victim because you sound sympathetic. It can go either way.
