@CustomSync I wouldn't say hackers.. I'd say crackers or Black hats... but yes There are tools you can get for about $10 if you know where to look that will encode your virus and make it harder to be detected... They're called FUDs

Even with the most up to date AntiVirus, AntiSpyware, Firewalls, it can NOT keep up with the encryption techniques that "hackers" use no a days with their trojans, bots and so on.
People can buy an encryption program for their torjan for the great price of $10 in the right place, and suddenly their trojan is no longer detected by anything. Of course, maybe after a few weeks or months your Anti-Virus will update and detected it, but by then it will be to late.

Very informative. Using caution, common sense is the key. Antivirus, anti-malware software can be helpful. but can be compromised if the user is careless what sites they visit.

Yes, only one known botnet for the Mac that I am aware of called iServices and that comes with some pirated copies of Photoshop for Mac.
