Chrono Trigger - Dual Character Low Level Challenge - Masa & Mune

The first battle is a complete joke, and easily the easiest battle so far by far. Just make sure to attack the one on the left side, as they'll use a ~45 damage counterattack if you attack the one on the right. You go directly into the next battle without an opportunity to change party members and heal, so Crono can't be allowed to survive. Since I must use Lucca in the next battle, Marle takes all the EXP.

Crono: Level 1
Marle: Level 4


The next battle is much like Heckran, but he's nowhere near that dangerous. Well, technically, he's much more dangerous, as you need at least 160 HP to survive his Tornado attack. However, he's not quite as fast as Heckran, and Lucca can easily solo the battle with enough HP. She had 166 HP without the Silver Erng, but then she couldn't always survive two attacks in the latter half of the battle. If you want to be safe, you should aim for at least 175 HP.

His attack pattern is also similar to Heckran:

That's with more than 50% HP left. Below 50%:

Attack (more powerful)
Attack (more powerful)

Tornado
Repeat

It gets very tedious in the second half, as you can only attack twice between the Tornados, and it takes 13 Fires to kill him once he's below 50%. That's 26 Fires in total, and that's how I knew exactly when he would die.

I just haven't let Masa&Mune use that charge up attack on me in so long, I'd forgotten! Thanks, Garland! You ARE TheGreat!) This is like, getting to EXTREME Epic territory. I can't wait to see how Magus's Castle goes, ESPECIALLY the man himself...

Well, call me a fanboy - I really like Masa and Mune. Plus I love the second boss battle theme they have going - among my absolute favorite CT tracks. Besides, this is you we're talking about - "Epic" is part of the job description of being "TheGreat", and you haven't failed yet.

And yes, I'm -very- much looking forward to your encounter with Magus...6666 HP, if memory serves? God help us all. @_@

You fanboy! Well, I agree it's a great battle, and this boss theme is better than the regular. We'll see how long it takes before I fail. I have a feeling Flea is going to be very annoying.

If you use Crono's "Slash" while Masa&mune are "storing energy", it cancels the tornado attack. "Balance in nature" or something is the excuse Square came up with - some random NPC tells you, but I don't remember where...
