I'm English and couldn't give a shit about the north south class divide, that said im a simple chire folk from Cheshire, that done and dusted Idlewild are for me the band that a) got me out of the shit that was my life and 2) help make me achive my goal. I am forever Idlewild. Thanks for all you are and all yo have done. for ever my support be it Sutherland or Cheshire

@JackVannet I have seen both bands, and think Biffy Clyro have been in some ways more interesting. But Mr Woomble's solo and colaboration work shows that he could well be Scotland's best contemporary singer-songwriter. So I only half agree with you, Jack. Your opinion is worth at least as much as mine, though.

@tubeman25 i highly recommend the other albums, especially up to the remote part. but be aware that the band is definitely versatile, and kept growing, and the music does change over the course of the albums. this is not a bad thing, but it may not be what you expect, given the first album.

And have you noticed he's actually singing in his own accent now? The early albums he does what every British band growing up listening to American bands does and that's sing in an American accent coz it's all you've heard. I love the fact he's letting his Scottish accent come through now. Most noticeable on the 2nd verse of You Held the World....I think. Deffo agree tho, voice has improved with age.
