Varies from rider to rider, 30, 35, 40. Not to slow, you will get run over by the non touring full sport bikes. What I do is go my own speed which is usually normal to slightly fast.
stop at the deals gap resort at the bottom of the run; bike heaven, baggers, cruisers, sportbikes, good folks one and all it'stwhat I imagine the "rock store" must be like.
Deals Gap is on the Tennessee-North Carolina border. On the map, it is part of the western boundary of the Great Smokie Mountains, just southeast of Maryville, TN.
I'm a Goldwing rider who use to ride a CBR 100R and a ST1300. All of which are exceptional in the twisties although the Wing requires a bit more effort.
Overall, the ST's best cruise is at about 80-90mph. It really flows nice (maybe not on the gap, but for other roads where you can get away with it).

What you you suggest for a good average speed to use on the ST1300 going through the gap?

Perfect soundtrack! Engine and music volumes are just right. I can't wait to buy a VFR800 and go back to Deal's Gap.
