Berliner Antigone - Guillotine - Young Woman

A clip i saw along time ago but it disappeared from youtube so i thought i'd repost it. Like Maria that is also on my channel she seems so calm as her life is taken but a note on Maria says that a historian friend said that condemed ladies often did what the executioner wanted so that he would kill them as quickly and painlessly as possible.

I'd love to know what the movie is and what she did to deserve her fate if she deserved it.

Thankyou Pearl. Your comment sent me to Wikipedia and now i think i understand. Was her brother considered a traitor by the Germans? Did they execute him and use his body for research? Her execution is a tough penalty for wanting a sibling to be buried. I hope that my brother dies before me lol. I'm guessing that was her brother who is shown walking with her in the clip. Is that right?

This reminds me of the case of Sophie Scholl, a German student, active within the White Rose non-violent resistance group in Nazi Germany. She was convicted of high treason after having been found distributing anti-war leaflets at the University of Munich with her brother Hans. As a result, they were both executed by guillotine. There is a recent film about her, which is absolutely brilliant:

Do away with both capital punishment AND prison sentences longer than 10 years. Prison IS, by definition, torture.
