Parkour is not only JUMPING from a 2 b. There is a whole side you arent getting, the philosophy behind it. Bothe PK and FR have very similar ideas running them.

wow howd he get video of me???
-
actually david belle said not to long ago that flips can be considered parkour, if its used to get over an object.
-
That is free run but cool video .... blood yeah that was sceary xD

Parkour was introduced to David belle by his father who was also a tracuer, he learned it from somewhere else, i forget the guys name, but he came up with the idea, during or near WWI when his town was being fuckin' eatin by a valcano ( i love saying it that way ) and he helped save a shit ton of people and then he decided to perfect what he had kinda done in the town that was bein "fuckin' eatin' by a valcano" history is important ya know,

parkour has a philosophy and purpose, and is meant to be practical and is considered an art, free running is an expression of ones movement, not trying to get somewhere as fast as possible there's no efficiency in free running, thats what parkour is all about, and self improvement and anti competition.
-
im guessing you know nothing about this stuff :P
Parkour: used by the french made by david belle and was used as a new game of tag, basically roof tag
Free Running: Dont stop running and do tricks

They both have the same spiritual side SELF PERSERVERANCE and knowing the limits of your body and if you stay with just one PK or FR you are limiting your training, why not do both and expand your body and mind. I am almost to the point of not calling it either because it is such a big deal online. How about the art of NO WAY instead of ONE WAY! Something I learned from the teachings of Bruce Lee, never conform to one way, learn many ways and adapt it to you
-
so why limit yourself to one dicipline, I say hone your body in every aspect. Yes parkour is point a 2 b as fast as possible. But as I said before they both have an almost mirror image of each other. The only difference is flips.
-
Well...no
Parkour is just strictly from A to B as fast as possible. No Flips, no Spins, just fast vaults, nothing more.
Freerunning is, how it says, free. You CAN be eficient, but you can do flips, spins ´n whatever.
Both is great and beautiful, but PK has more limitations than FR.

read the second one and then the first one...:P sorry for this :D

Check this out. It's from the Yamakasi, a breakaway faction of the original Traceurs. Including William Belle, David's little brother. Look up "yamakasi Q&A part II" tell me what you think.
