My hope is that this series will be able to educate & inform people about ALS. Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis is a progressive neurodegenerative disease that attacks nerve cells in the brain and spinal cord resulting in muscle weakness and atrophy. Over 5,600 people a year in the U.S. are newly diagnosed. There is no known cause OR cure & it can strike anyone, regardless of their age, gender, or race. THANK YOU Edith for allowing us to share your story. Directed by Rich Dahl & shot by Flo Stadler for ALSA LA ©2009

  • @sum1sumwhere007 My dad passed away 28 January 2011 :'(

  • @BROCKLESNARFAN1980 i hope your dad is doing ok.

  • Amyotrophic Lateral Sclerosis (ALS) aka: Lou Gehrigh's disease, is a relentlessly progressive paralyzing disease - most patients die within 2-5 yrs.

ALS is a death sentence w/no end in sight & the only way to further push for research is to get the word out. There is no known cure for ALS, but you can easily bring a thousand people the seed of hope.

PLEASE HELP SPREAD PUBLIC AWARENESS IN THE FIGHT AGAINST ALS AND HELP STRIKE OUT AND DEFEAT ALS.

  • My grandma had surgery on both of her feet at the same time when she was younger, survived breast cancer, and then was diagnosed with ALS in 1996 and passed away in 1998. This is a terrible disease and im praying that one day they will come up with a cure! I would never wish this on anybody!
