Initial setup and configuration of SONAR (version 8.5 and earlier). Covers setup of audio interface, project folders, and other settings to ensure optimal performance.
How do the peeps at Cakewalk setup their own SONAR workstations? Find out now.
@TheStratocasterBlues Hi Strat, If this helps my M Audio Keystation manual says to use ASIO drivers and I did and it worked but I had problems displaying all the ins and outs of the soundcard with the ASIO drivers and switched to WDM/KS and they all appeared and the MID keyboard worked fine. I have a M Audio Delta 44 soundcard and Home Studio XL7 but the audio options looks pretty much the same. Walt
Dear cakewalk, I have always liked Sonar but HATED all of your pretentious "instructional" videos. BUT you have finally created a how to video that is worthy of your product. First of all, the narrator speaks recognizable English and secondly the content is informative. (Not preachy, condescending or fluff) This one video alone covers what took me many hours in forums to learn. I hope you continue this type of support and increase the subject matter covered. Well Done!
You can, but I find that if you use it for a project, and then a few months later have it unplugged for whatever reason, sonar will crash (100% of the time), and sometimes the reverse is also true.
One of the BEST cake videos so far! The speaker is 100% understandable and efficient with word timing (Speaking as a Bi-lingual user)
Overall, this video will definitely save hundreds of questions on the forums! Great video Cake! PLEASE post more like this for other people new to the software and save us long term users.
@TheStratocasterBlues the asio + midi setup are 2 different things. it would be best to use a midi keyboard though, using a pc keyboard.. is well... long winded
