fransesselaar- No, the GN'R 1996 album was already started. slash wrote a bunch of riffs and the GN'R band wasn't keen about it which was Snakepits 1st album instead of wasting the music.

Being there's 3 prior members from Guns there I think everybody thought Scott should sound like Axl and I think slash was hoping Scott would also but nobody can sound like Axl and I feel bad for Scott for the way he got shafted cuz he is a good singer.
