He is referring to learning other languages, not only Spanish....we all live in a globalized world...so...ok, English may be the current lingua franca, but if you try to figure globalization out, so....above all, studying languages is good for the brain even in question of health....I don't live nor wasn't born in any English-speaking country so studying languages have made a huge difference in my life.

it took me 1 year to learn english but now i know it and i love being bilingual (exept i cant rly speak english that well yet XD)
and i was taking italian and japanese but it was too hard on me so i will only take italian next year so i can become trilingual and learn even more languages if i can, language is power and having more than two languages is the best idea for the US i have heard on a long time
