This is the first time that Keith Stegall, Alan's producer a couple of years later, ever saw him perform. This is also Alan's first appearance on national television. TNN in 1986

Dam alan looks strange like a regular old poor person like me and half the world.when you see him now he just looks high class. somthing what fame and money can do for you.lucky man but alan really can sing and write unlike half the country stars out there.he has real talent.

Hey Chris. I looked around for the album but no luck finding it on sale anywhere. I did find it here on youtube though. Search for Jason Halverson then search his videos for Alan Jackson, or try youtube . com /playlist?list=PL4C654FCA253787AC

What i dont get is why on any of his discography's his first album New Traditional is never listed. That album was recorded in 1987 on an independent label. And was released in 1992 only in Japan. Alot of top artists have 1 or 2 albums they recorded before making it, and most of those are well known. So i just dont Understand why Alan didnt have it released after he got big in 1989. For it to only be in Japan is odd, unless he was bigger in Japan at that time than the USA.

Oddly enough, this was one of his debut songs where he was trying to get noticed which is the EXACT same song he sang just last week at George Jones funeral which he alone ended the service ( He stopped loving her today ) And when he sang the words " all dressed up to go away " I just about lost my mind. George we miss you and all you have given the whole world with your music.

Yeah, I agree about the fact (& irony) that AJ sang this very song today at Possum's funeral. Must have been tremendously emotional for him.
