A cineasta especializada em vida selvagem Rebecca Hosking investiga como transformar a fazenda de sua família em Devon em uma fazenda baixo consumo de energia para o futuro, e descobre que a natureza tem a chave.

Com o seu pai perto da aposentadoria, Rebecca retorna à fazenda de sua família em Devon , para se tornar a próxima geração no cultivo da terra da família. Mas a alta de combustível e um chamado para Rebecca cair na real. Ciente de que toda a produção de alimentos no Reino Unido é totalmente dependente de combustível fóssil abundante e barato, especialmente petróleo, ela se propõe a descobrir o quão seguro é o suprimento de petróleo.

Alarmada com as respostas, ela explora as formas de agricultura sem o uso de combustíveis fósseis. Com a ajuda de agricultores e produtores pioneiros, Rebecca descobre que na verdade é a Natureza que detém a chave para a agricultura em um futuro com baixo consumo energético.

Wildlife film maker Rebecca Hosking investigates how to transform her family's farm in Devon into a low energy farm for the future, and discovers that nature holds the key.

With her father close to retirement, Rebecca returns to her family's wildlife-friendly farm in Devon, to become the next generation to farm the land. But last year's high fuel prices were a wake-up call for Rebecca. Realising that all food production in the UK is completely dependent on abundant cheap fossil fuel, particularly oil, she sets out to discover just how secure this oil supply is.

Alarmed by the answers, she explores ways of farming without using fossil fuel. With the help of pioneering farmers and growers, Rebecca learns that it is actually nature that holds the key to farming in a low-energy future.

Brilliant! ...you go girl! ...at first I was really questioning the direction that the narrative was heading but when you began going to the permacultureing ...gardenculturing people ...tears of joy burst from my eyes ...I really saw the benefits of leaving the roots intact ...the images and narrative were edited well clearly informing and inviting the viewers to rethink ...gentle insight full approach

@gaiagale It is indeed a great documentary. I uploaded it here hoping to get some help from my fellow Brazilians and create Portuguese subtitles. Permaculture is almost unknown in Brazil, this kind of info is much needed in our country which is being POISONED by agrotoxic farming. Brazil is now the largest user of pesticides in the world. Monsanto GM seeds and other pesticides corporations are all over my country. Permaculture and all forms of organic farming would be a great solution for us.

@ECOmantiqueira ...the Monsanto conglomerate is so outside of anything that remotely resemble mutually beneficial system ...they are lobbying many countries' political/legal systems for complete seed control ...we, as food foragers and growers, would be wise to stop buy GM seeds and any kind of pesticides, insecticides, and fertilizers ...I wish you success in helping your fellow country growers understand that there are way of growing that are restorative as well as being mutually profitable

@gaiagale Tks for the comment Gaiagale... I, for one, do not consume anything containing GMO seeds. I consume only organic food. You are righton the evil Monsanto. I think that corporation is the WORST corporation in the world as long as the environment, biodiversity and human health are concerned.

This video hits it square on the head, Practices and methods of farming have changed so vastly in the last 50 years. Our current situation is Unsustainable, Farmers used to be stewards of the land. With Commercial farming at its peak we are far from Stewards. I myself being a small farmer.

Concordo 100% com vc. Por isso que coloquei umas anotações no inicio pedindo ajuda no trabalho.

Mas... depois de 6 meses ninguém se manifestou. Para fazer sozinho tenho que gastar umas 60 horas de trabalho. Transcrever o audio em ingles, depois traduzir tudo, otimizar o texto pra "dar tempo" de se ler o texto em PT, (que tende a ser mais longo do que ingles), sincronizar, etc, etc. É um trabalho enorme.

Já assisti esse video umas 5 vezes, é excelente. Seria ótimo ter com legenda,
