Don't I need to pay more if I am going to publish app book or app magazine for ipad and register to the Apple Appstore with your program? Adobe DPS want me to pay a lot to do so. Please let me know if there are any other pay options for publishing or register to the Appstore.

@crossmindcom It's true that while the app creation and issue design process is free, right through testing apps and issues, once you are ready to push your content to the App Store there are additional costs. You will absolutely need an Apple iOS Developer Account ($99) and there are different cost from Quark for the app and the issues. Prices are expected to start at $498 BUT crucially, there are no ongoing costs to pay to Quark beyond this - very different to the competitor models.

Is there an existing app created by Quark Studio that is currently available for viewing?

@CHATSWORTHPRODUCTS There are some apps in the App Store produced with App Studio but all with the QuarkXPress 8.5 version either through the iPad Publishing Service or through Quark Publishing System. What that means is they don't take advantage of all of the new features (like scrollable layouts) that you'll see in App Studio with QuarkXPress 9. Search for Blag Deluxe in the App Store for an example.

The App Studio features are being releases in a 9.1 version of QuarkXPress in late August. So you're correct that you will not see these features in the current 9.0 version. 9.1 will be a free update for all existing QuarkXPress 9 users.

Actually when we release App Studio for QuarkXPress we'll give you another opportunity to try out QuarkXPress 9 for 30 days so I would go ahead and give it a go now and start to familiarise yourself with the other features in QuarkXPress 9. For example take a look at the reflow view as this will be applicable for ePUB, Blio and App Studio.

I watched both of the videos and read the manual. While it was wonderful to create my first App, Quark 9.2 is filled with bugs and support is almost non-existent. The "live chat" guys in India are clueless. 6 hours on live chat over 3 days with no answers;  one guy asked me to upload my file and 10 days went by before he emailed "we're working on figuring out what the problem is." Bugs galore in this software. User beware!

I my Quark 9.1spanish there is not the option "sync to other orientations" why?

Looks like with Apple's iBooks Author software you can now publish your own magazines and publications for the iPad for free. Guess your $500 price tag is now in CHECKMATE.

I cant find app studio or File > New Project > (no IPad Options) in version 9.
