@Crosisborg Not that I disagree but I don't see how they are protected. This is essentially taking 4 minutes of their product and changing the subtitles. The product is being altered in such a way that it undermines the original intent. What is to stop someone from cutting up an entire movie in pieces on their channel and just changing the subtitles? Again, don't get me wrong, I think these are hilarious, I just question the law.

@AtheistsRstoopid Then you dont know what fair use is. Its not about time taken to make the video. Its not about the upholding of the original intent. If its a spoof, its protected 100%. Clearly avideo of Hitler speaking of modern things is a spoof and therefor protected.

@Crosisborg Well there is time involved since the copyright act states "Whether it was in part, or in full", but it also states the intent of it, was it a transformative act, and whether it was for non-commercial, or commercial purposes. As long as it's short, and it's transformed, you will be fine ;).

The producers of "Downfall" should be happy for all the free publicity. It got rave reviews when it was first released. Because the film is subtitled, I made a note to someday rent it when it came out on DVD. But I have a long list of films to rent.....However...after viewing about 50 of these parody videos, I wanted to know what the hell he was really saying in the scene...and so it got me to go out and finally rent the damned movie...which IS a GREAT piece of work by the way.
