David Pastorius and Local 518 "Urban Island"

David Pastorius nephew of Jaco Pastorius noted bass player and member of the jazz band Weather Report has released a new album CD on P-Vine Records called "David Pastorius and Local 518". This video is a live performance of one of the cuts from the CD. This video is part of a 24 minute video used for promotion of the cd in Japan.

@GarethMTB Sounds to me like you don't listen to a lot of Jazz. Might explain why you think they "need" a front man. But they don't, because when a band can improvise this much and this well, a front man would only ruin it. There would have to be less soloing and have the music itself be simplified for it to sound good with a front man.

I live in the same town as David and I have seen him really play. After playing in a band for a while it becomes second nature.  I have seen David do some real improvisation and all I can say is the guy knows what he is doing.
