  • Dave A for lifffffffffffee!!!!!!!!!!!

  • Last time I saw them was out of sheer curiosity back in 2009 on the 3rd of 4 nights in L.A. That just happened to be the night that Cantrell & Cornell turned up, so, I lucked-up that time. Not sure what compelled me to go since I haven't been able to listen to any of their albums post-Riot Act and lost interest in them as a live act after '98. But, it wasn't half-bad, I guess. On that night at least.

  • @Fakename70 Fair enough mate, each to their own. My opinion of their music differs greatly to yours post 1994. Agree to disagree on that part. I can't say I had the luxury of seeing them live until they hit NZ recently (just over 2 years ago). They put on a great performance but I could not help but wonder what it would have been like had Dave been there. I got free tickets. I even had the audacity to bring a banner saying "Bring Back Dave"... Different era and energy for sure.

I'd half-agree with that. I think the music actually improved after '94, particularly onstage. They'll never top that 1995 tour or Yield as far as I'm concerned. It's too bad Irons wasn't able to play in '98 beyond Maui, since the band really returned to top form on that tour. I think Abbruzzese was a gem in-studio, but, that snare of his was killing me live. Couldn't stand it beyond '92.

  • @Fakename70 Yeah that seems consistent with the book "Five Against One". But the nature in how it was handled was appalling and Eddie just plain did not like Dave's happy go lucky attitude. Dave was effectively punished for ENJOYING HIS JOB. I mean, WTF!? After they fired him, their music went downhill, ticketmaster spanked them. They have never been as good since 1994 and that makes me as an Abbruzzese fan quite happy. Fuck you Eddie you cunt.

  • I was toward the front of the stage, crowd went crazy. Loved it how Eddie told us to take care of each other.....

  • I was there! Great memories! Good times!!!!!!

  • The one and only for PJ! Dave Abbruzzese!

  • PLEEEEEEEEEAAAAAASSEEEE DON'T GO ON MEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEYYY

  • @tcdude001

While that's always going to be up for discussion, I've concluded that EV never really considered Dave a full-time permanent member of the band. I think he thought Dave was just filling-in as far as he (EV) was concerned. "Filling-in" until Jack Irons --- who reportedly had an open invitation from EV --- was ready to join, that is.
