  • Ed, how do you personally tell the differences between amp heads and (especially) cabinets? I get that a lot of them have EQ sections tuned to different frequencies, but what makes an Ampeg an Ampeg, or an Ashdown an Ashdown, etc.?

  • @demontoadsmacker - How do I tell the difference? I use my ears. I don't really have an answer for your question.

  • is that enough to play shows with a post-hardcore and rock band??

can it beat the drums connected to a 1x15" cab??

  • @BreakTheWallsMusic - No, you need more power and more speaker coverage.

  • Hey Ed, how did you get the head to actually attach itself to the top of the cab? We can't figure it out.

  • @WyattTheGuitarist - It came already attached.

  • Is there a chance you'll be reviewing the Fender Blacktop basses?

  • @williamsanders

    Thank you!!

I love this line and James Jamerson is the man!

  • @ryanjd93 It's "I was made to love her" by Stevie Wonder. Incredible bassline is laid down by the incomparable James Jamerson.

  • What is that song you're playing in the beginning?

My bass teacher always plays that and I forget to ask him what it is...

  • always great reviews

  • @WyattTheGuitarist dino monoxelis has a vid on the ampeg channel for how to do this.

  • why the hell did you play the pick style palm muted? :( finally i found a video where someone plays this amp with a pick and then i hear that :( that doesnt really give me an idea how it sounds... but obviously thats a really good review!

  • IMO 15's don't sound good for slap. I love 12's and 10's for all playing styles. I play mostly finger style.

  • sweet lull p!

  • @BassGuitarMag HUH? If I went into a store and used my ears I would never buy an amp...Go buy reviews/quality of brand and hopefully you can hear some videos or even a band using your amp/cab.

  • Ed, I love your reviews. I just want to say you've done an awesome job so far and I'm looking forward to many more great reviews.

PS. Any chance on a PF 500 review? ;)
