We did exactly the same flight on our dual glider back in 1997, when John R. used to supervise the site (is he still there?). I had about 1500 hours on hangliders by that time.

I logged about 100 hours before coming to Owens. I am still very cautious about cross country hanggliding. Not like most of my fly buddies, they went dozens or even hundred miles far, I chose to fly safe and land in the airport.

@smilingglider You must be a NASCAR fan...LOL Most people favor a side. Everybody points to the coriolis effect, but I think thats BS. I just try to turn towards lift! ;) And nice vid lijianliu

I actually did few. But I am not used to left turns. I may start thermaling in left turn, but I will usually manage to turn to right :)
