ok,i live near dayton and i always drive around so to all the people that critisize the city:
i mean, so what if dayton isnt the cleanest city ever? lots of cities are dirty. so what if dayton isnt the prettiest like new york,l.a.,chicago
but it is very beautiful with all the trees and rolling hills
i think its beuatiful but i do pray that people take care of the Earth. :/

My name is Scott Ford formerly working with The City of Dayton and the Southeast Priority Board I moved away from my home town after local government failed and projects and businesses left Dayton. I now reside in NYC and I want to come back to Dayton with my outside experience and vision to help transform Dayton to a working attractive Midwest Center and create Dayton's new future image of one that is appealing to the outsider and tourist. Every ohio city has had its problems. At one time they were calling cleveland the mistake by the lake due to its high rate of crime and economic decline, what has to happen in dayton is people need to clean up the streets. No more killing and drug selling get a real job, yes manufacture jobs are gone but now this just sets up the future of dayton with a go green technolgy atmosphere which can bring new jobs in the area and its already doing so. But you need education to get into this field

When people come to visit from out of town where do you take them for fun?? We got some amusement parks i guess, but that's about it. Cincinnati , ohio got alot of stuff to do i guess. How far from the truth is forbes. I agree we are a dying city. Nobody thinks outside the box, we in a box. We keep the funeral homes busy. The census is a big joke. Ain't no money coming back to our community. The streets been fuck up for years. Leave dayton while you can still walk. Let dayton die who cares, shit

There's nothing to do in dayton, ohio, but get high. There's no good clubs, arcade square is closed. Salem mall is gone, Walmart in trotwood ohio is gone. The clubs in dayton suck. Homicide is on the rise again and it ain't even summer yet. Everybody is hustling drugs or clothes, or cds and movies. Everybody just stuck on there porch. Downtown dayton sucks every since they closed arcade square. Why did they close it anyway? The people here are not friendly. Everybody is bitter and mad. NO JOBS

The future of Dayton? What a joke? The only thing that will save Dayton now is a bulldozer to level it so they can turn it back to crop land. The only good paying jobs available is in the illegal drug trade buying, selling or running illegal drugs & narcotics. Dayton used to have a lot of really smart citizens. They are the ones that left town. Over 100,000 to be exact.

Tax abatements!
Bring jobs TO Dayton, Real Jobs, real manufacturing and service jobs.
More Police: Enforce the laws, get rid of loitering hoods and drug dealers.
The West Side is a war zone. More community policing, get people involved.
More home ownership, tear down the 10,000 vacant homes that are blight.
Do something with the river, develop it. It is doing nothing as it sits now.
Have a dock, water races, bike paths with security. Clean it, expand it.

Lupforlife- Shut the hell up . Dayton is actually home of stars and so what there alot of african americans there . My best friend happens to be black . You can go and look at comments offending your race . You're a sick racist .

Wow, lots of critics, but I don't hear anyone offering a solution. If you don't like the shape your city is in get off your ass and do something about it. Its people like you that give Dayton such a bad reputation!
Dayton is going through some amazing changes that sadly the media won't report on!

Living about 5 minutes from downtown and seeing all the homes boarded up due to foreclosure and drug trafficking, I am wondering what all that luxury will do for the poor here. Most likely nothing. It will be people from outside Dayton proper who will be using all that great new stuff.
I wish they would spend more on law enforcement and tearing down a bunch of these eyesore empty residences as well as building new things.

What about the restoration of Dunbar District? I belive many poor people live there! A great effort is going on all over the city.
