A short art film I made and created the music for. This version is of different shots of water very close and digitally slowed down. No other effects were used. There are a few different shots that will be used separately in a installation piece. It is supposed to be a sort of moving painting with sound where it can be whatever you think it is, whatever you see in the abstractions is what it is. The music I made for it was heavily influenced by Radiohead's Song Like Spinning Plates, both the normal version and the reversed version. I was experimenting with the illusion of movement and stillness in film and photography which is why it stops at some points, although it of course doesn't as it is the same shot repeated to appear still. The other influence on the film was Thomas Hardy's poem The Self Unseeing although it is perhaps hard to see why:

Here is the ancient floor,
Footworn and hollowed and thin,
Here was the former door
Where the dead feet walked in.

She sat here in her chair,
Smiling into the fire;
He who played stood there,
Bowing it higher and higher.

Childlike, I danced in a dream;
Blessings emblazoned that day
Everything glowed with a gleam;
Yet we were looking away!

Thomas Hardy
