  • That wheel isn't attached to the inertia of a 1/4 of a 7300lb Tahoe doing 75mph down a highway. It doesn't take much force to stop a light-weight spinning object. As a DJ or any kid who's plaid with a plastic fan.

  • @fakshen1973 you dont need to deliver rotational force to the wheels using a magnetic engine. You simply use it to create energy for the electric motors that turn the wheels

  • FYI, similar eddy current brakes are used on many modern roller coasters. We have vertical fins on the track that slot into permanent magnets on the train. The brakes are so powerful that we even use them to bring you to a safe landing on those massive drop tower rides. So the next time you're at an amusement park look for the vertical fins sticking out from the middle of the track and you'll know what they're for. :)
