My guitar playing felt stagnant in standard tuning. I switched to CGCGCe and couldn't believe how much my playing improved. The fingerings felt more natural and I was able to let my fingers just do what they want. My friends were asking how I learned how to play such amazing music seemingly overnight. I have not and will not tune my guitar back to EADGBe. Now I'm learning mandolin, but I figured I should learn the concert tuning before falling in love with open again!

nice guitar mate, theres not enough guitarists playing open,i play as many open tuned songs as possible as they have an almost mystical/natural sound about them, open A,F,C6,G,dadgad,dadfad and others, standard tuning starts too wear on the ear

agreed- open tunings just seem more natural, more ... welll.. open! 8^) the guitar we have does not hurt much either. we will be starting a new run of prototypes i nthe next week or so, mandolin, dreadnought, base and maybe even a parlor guitar. all i need is a few extra hours in the day and i'll be all set...
thanks for checking it out- and please look at all the other clips, slide, banjo, mando... etc...

there is no resonator... this is not your daddy's dobro/national steele... it is a Dowling Sound Labs prototype aluminum bodied guitar. the 1st of 4 total so far. another will be featured shortly setup for "dobro" slide play... get in line folks. these are one of a kind custom guitars made by an engineer with 40 years of playing experience. no need to work about humidity now... technophonic. please ask all the questions you like. we want to get these out there! tell your friends. 8^)

Cool, but wtf? resonator is minus a cone...

that is the key... it does not need a cone... the body is all aluminum, manufactured by my father (playing it)!
this is as far as we know the only acoustic aluminum non resonator guitar made. the first of it's kind. one of 4 made so far. the next one will be up soon- setup to play slide dobro. this is just the beginning...8^)
