4 days after finance minister Uhuru Kenyatta directed his cabinet colleagues and top government officials to surrender their fuel guzzlers, none has complied. The ministers were to start using 1800 cc vehicles in cost-cutting measures but as Francis Gachuri reports, the fuel guzzlers will continue to adorn our roads, due to red tape in government procurement procedures.

  • I still can't believe that moi stooge mutula kilonzo is a minister in this govt. Why not go ahead and make a biwott/ntimama ministers as well?

Tena mbona passatts which are still a little pricey to maintain? why not simple toyota corollas and nissan sunnys?

  • uhuru you are a lying bustard....your father stole enough land from kenyans and you hardly deserve tobe in government.,,,give it back first then talk about passats. shitanda you better sharve that passat up your loose end asshole and mutula get one privately next week....kenyans are tired of paying for your smelly greesy shitty ass as well. matako nyinyi wote! passats vs bmws ,,,,dick heads who cant; think of their country for one moment!

  • This is damn, the cost of a used Mercedes is lower than a new passat. There may not be a difference afterall . Furthermore Mercedes hardly breaks down and so the cost of maintenance may not be high.
