new video with this 10 watt LED and focus: http://youtu.be/1yJhftcXm8Q?hd=1
Read this first before asking!
test of an 10 Watt high Power LED running with 800 mA @ 12 Volt

- Normaly the heatsink is much too small, but it's ok here because the LED is turned on just a very short time
- The LED must not become hotter than 60°C! Higher temperatures will kill the LED!
- At 0:19 you can see 9 darker squares inside of the yellow area. This squares are the actual LEDs
- I used a self build power supply which can be bought here: http://www.tuxgraphics.org/electronics/200707/bench-power-supply-unit.shtml
- You can compare the brightness with the halogen lights in the room. This are 4 x 20 Watt halogen lamps
- I bought the led from this ebay Shop: http://stores.ebay.com/eylane
- How Bright?: 600-700 Lm
- Color Temp: 6000-7500K
- Viewing Angle : 160°
- Forward Voltage : 11.5~12V
- Forward Current : 800 mA
- The song used in this video is: Spencer and Hill - Back in the love (dave armstrong and david rubato remix)

  • may i ask a question i have an 5.5m in length and 40cm in hight logo that i want to light up with this LED ! can u tell me how many of ther LED do i need to light up the logo and where can i buy these ?

  • @pavilion655 It depends on how constant you want to light it up. You can use one of these LEDs. Or you use 4 LEDs with 3 Watt, one in each corner. Or you use many small LEDs (5mm), 20 above and 20 below the sign.

  • I wonder if this is bright enough to be used in a DIY projector ?

  • @madmax2069 I guess so, check this: /watch?v=1yJhftcXm8Q

  • we want to build some led lights for diving but can someone tell me how big the surface area for a heat sink needs to be for a 10w 900 lumen led from tme.eu/dok/H/HPR20D-19K10BWHA%2812000_K-14000_K%29.pdf

  • @0Sebek0 another way to put it would be because the leds arnt created equal, some will draw more amps at a given voltage than others.

  • @0Sebek0 its the low quality leds, each one is a bit different and when you limit the power, ill put it this way, all those leds are fighting for power and some will suck it all up and light, and the rest will not light because there is no power left for them.

  • @madmax2069 i would go brighter. get a high quality xml u2 or xml t6. or a cree easywhite

  • will it be possible to to connect this LED to foglights one my car?

  • @cloackmu: Milli Amps. One amp divided by 1000. 800 mA = 0.8A

  • wow, i had to mute that crap

  • @cloackmu I think it mean milliAmps.

  • what means mA ?

  • @0Sebek0 took in the 3v dc and put out 23v ac at some really high pulse rate, those old 5mm leds not only shown at least twice as bright as before, but now I was able to use twenty of them! And get this, even with the leds shining so much brighter and me increasing their number by 4x, a pair of fresh batteries will run the light for a little obver six hours!!!!
