GARY LUCAS: PT 2 LIVE ON THE MOTOSHIP STUBNITZ ROSTOCK GERMANY 9/10/98
Gary Lucas, selected as one of DownBeat's "66 Hot 6-Stringers"
alongside John McLaughlin, Richard Thompson and Pat Metheny, performs
solo in September 1998 on board the Motoship Stubnitz, a former East
German high-seas fishing vessel that is now a free-floating cultural
platform and arts performance space that docks at various European
cities each year to provide live art and music events
(www.stubnitz.com). Here Gary Lucas plays music from his soundtrack for the silent film
"The Golem" (1920, d. Paul Wegener and Carl Boese) aboard the
floating arts laboratory the Motoship Stubnitz, at the point in time
docked in the harbor at Rostock Germany.
