Optic ataxia concerns impairments in using visual information to guide motor movements. In the clip we see a patient who can recognize visual objects but with at least one of her hands she has a difficult time reaching out to grasp the objecta problem tied to impaired representation in the "how" visual pathway.

The uploader of this video is my psych prof at ubc, he however is not the person conducting the experiment and had nothing to do with the techniques used.

@Demitsi well keep in mind, this video is obviously quite old, when psychiatric patients weren't exactly treated as they should have been. I don't think the neuropsychologist here was terribly rude, but he does seem to treat her as if being a somewhat slow child. It breaks my heart to see her suffering so much, though... but clinically, it's fascinating to see how specialised the dorsal stream is for guiding visually-directed actions.

Well in that kind of examinations, the doctor (or the neuropsychologist) has to follow a precise pattern of actions in order to *neutrally* assess the performance of the patient. That's the best way to have a reliable estimation of his impairments. The kindness and polite stuffs and all, that comes before and after the testing. During it, it might bias the results.
By the way I doesn't seem to me that the doctor is being particularly rude here.
