  • I was at this game. 4 things stuck out for a 9yr old me, the reasons I remember the game. 1. This anthem was awful. 2. A fight near our seats in peanut heaven and the guys walking by as they got kicked out, blood running down their faces. 3. 2 guys running on the field after Jay Bell's HR. 4. Empty seats. They opened up the whole of TRS, That amount of people would have generally been a sellout. 11 yrs separated from a WS, we didn't appreciate the playoffs. Not so if it were to happen again.

  • @TMC1982Part2 People weren't so thin-skinned back then like they are today.

  • Bonds wasn't kidding when he said they couldn't sell out three rivers even in the post season. The upper deck in the outfield was only about half full.

  • This is crazy oh say does that starspangledbanner yet way ooh land

  • Is this guy related to Frank Drebin?!

  • Way to screw up the national anthem...

  • @pgraybengal Apparently, Ted Shaker, who was a big time producer @ CBS Sports caught Buck in a hotel lobby soon afterward and simply said "You're in trouble!" Also, a Pirate fan left a footprint on a pillow from Buck's hotel room.

  • I was rolling at how bad Bobby sang it then when Buck made the comment I continued to laugh thinking man Buck might be in trouble!!!

  • buck had to do some apologizing for that comment at the end, I remember that. sucks really, but that was the beginning of the PC 90's..

  • Jack Buck must of been lucky that CBS didn't fire him immediately for mentioning Bobby Vinton being "Polish and from Pittsburgh!"
