Kings of Saudi Arabia

The King of Saudi Arabia is one of the world's few remaining absolute monarchs. Within the country his title is "Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques" referring to those in Mecca and Medina. King Abdul Aziz began the unification of modern Saudi Arabia in 1902 becoming King of Saudi Arabia in 1932. The King is his own prime minister and the crown prince is the deputy prime minister. As of 2009 the country has had 6 kings.

They are a pretty rough lot. I do not doubt that we will see them overthrown in the next 20-30 years. It will be a pity to see them go though, for they have managed to keep the peace so far.

They have always been pragmatic rulers, doing what they have to, as they see it, to maintain the kingdom. I hope they will not be overthrown because the ones who most favor it will be a nightmare. It will be Iran x10.

good video madmonarchist!! i like the arab kingdoms. but i would like that the saudi monachy become in constitutional monarchy, because the absolute monarchy has led death penalty, torture and is very outdated. saudi arabia should be modernized.
