Frouke Wiarda - Charcoal

Charcoal was a project by Frouke Wiarda in which three art-disciplines met. During the 10 days art-fair 'KunstVlaai' (ArtPie) in Amsterdam, drawing-artist Jet Nijkamp transformed the interior walls of a square box into a large Charcoal drawing. Frouke Wiarda recorded the sounds of the scratching and dashing charcoal, found all the autonomous overtones in every piece and segment. By re-arranging the separated, I composed new sound formula's and played them back in the box. The micro- and macroscopic visual perception of charcoal was explored and projected by Toon de Zoeten. In this performance and visual concert we let the visitors descend into the charcoal drawing.
