In this exclusive new report, filmed in Northern Iraq, PKK leader Murat Karayilan explains why attacks on Turkey will continue. It also profiles female fighters, including a German doctor who provides medical care.
At a PKK base in Northern Iraq, female soldiers are being put through their paces. They're preparing for a Turkish invasion. "I tell you honestly, we do not fear the Turks", states PKK leader Murat Karayilan. "They want to destroy Northern Iraq because they do not want stability here". Commander Aze Malazgilt is also unafraid. "With the right tactics, we will fight and beat the Turkish army". As well as fighting for independence, the PKK has also developed a social and political network. German doctor, Medya, has run medical clinics in the mountains for years. "The people need them". She joined the PKK 14 years ago and refuses to return to Germany. "I came for a goal and as long as it is not fulfilled, I will not leave".

The PKK aren't terrorists they are a legitimate liberation movement fighting for the rights of the Kurdish people. They are only labeled "terrorists" because they fight for their freedom.
