Thank God for Youtube Comment Snob. I can read comments on powerlifting videos now without seeing comments from stupid people. No more "well so-and-so did it better 20 years ago" or "raw and natural or nothing at all." I hate those morons. That or 150 pound jealous kids who have nothing to say but "steroids and fat."
All of you assholes who are bashing Mike for his size....he is about 245 now, lean, doing MMA and is still strong as fuck. Mike is one of the coolest dudes I know.
@streettraining no offense, but personal trainers have nothing to do with serious weight training. its for helping people learn how to "work out". Powerlifters don't work out, they train and they train very precisely and professionally. Almost all powerlifters use a wide stance, with a low bar placement. the wide stance helps make parallel easier to hit among many other reasons and the low bar placement allows you to activate more back and hams to recruit more overall muscle.
@Jerichosquink no... of course he wont have my aims! Wait till he's in his 40s and 50s though... he'll massively regret doing all of this! I train for health, strength, looks and mobility, and i'll be all of those till i die! he will not... i know what most people would want!
he can push all he wants, and as i've said - even getting that kinda weight on his back is a massive achievment, but i stand by my words in saying that the form is technically poor! agree to disagree if you will
Not everybody who works out desires your same goals. All mike cares about is moving the most weight, not that other stuff. Last time i checked he wasn't talking down to you about how you train, so why don't you give him the same courtesy as well. If your a personal trainer why don't you act like one and try to encourage people rather then taking away from there accomplishments. why don't you train the way that works for you, and let him train the way he wants cause it works for him as well.
@Jerichosquink I'm just saying... You could drive through his legs... my squat is probably at about 150kgs (8reps, 3 sets)... but if my legs were that far apart, i could up that to going on 200... the point of having your legs closer together is that its a compound, sagital plane exercise, and proper form, taught to personal trainers (of which i'm privately qualified), is how you use your core most properly, and if you have great range of movement you're in cracking shape, which, mike is not lol
@streettraining Yea, but personal trainers are faggots. Mike is not lol

@streettrain, You pick the any style of squat you want and Mike could squat way more than you in that style. Mike is stronger than you will ever be.

@streettrain- In powerlifting good form = legal lift+ a lot of weight. So this is good form.

I guess we will have to agree to disagree.
