  • From Dick Morris's article:

In Arkansas, the income tax when he took office was 1 percent for the poorest taxpayers and 7 percent for the richest, exactly where it stood when he left the statehouse 11 years later. But, in the interim, he doubled the standard deduction and the child care credit, repealed capital gains taxes for home sales, lowered the capital gains rate, expanded the homestead exemption and set up tax-free savings accounts for medical care and college tuition.

  • From Dick Morris's article 'Mike Huckabee is a Fiscal Conservative':

A recent column by Bob Novak excoriated Huckabee for a "47 percent increase in state tax burden." But during Huckabee's years in office, total state tax burden — all 50 states combined — rose by twice as much: 98 percent, increasing from $743 billion in 1993 to $1.47 trillion in 2005.

  • It's not how much you pay for taxes. It's if what you're getting is worth it. I suppose we would go to a weak state like in the 3rd world with no taxes and no infrastructure or safety net beyond family, but is that what we Americans really want?

  • Hey CFG,

I just wanted to let you know as a College Student I have broke the bank and donated money to Mike Huckabee and plan to donate more as your attacks continue. I know it takes money to beat you guys off. So I will continue to help Mike's bank roll increase as long as you all attack him and I encourage the rest of the supporters to do the same. Give a Buck for Huck.

  • Club for Greed is bought and paid for- their views are biased and tell half-truths. Get the facts, man! Balancing the budget, cutting taxes 90+ times, leaving the state with a surplus... these are GOOD things. CFG only tells a part of the story, and let's remember: a half-truth is more dangerous and erroneous than an outright lie. Get a grip, CFG!

  • He didn't say that they voted on any gas tax!! your edit seemed to imply it! he said that there was an issue where the people voted about something to do with roads and bridges! he doesnt say what form that took!

Be honest in your spinning please!!
