From March 12-23, 2007, Global Kids celebrated its first year (really, first year and a month) in Teen Second Life. The two weeks were full of all sorts of events, for and by teens.

On the site you will find teen reports, photos, transcripts, and more. A giant thank you to the dozens of teens, as well as the Lindens, who built objects, created animations, ran activities, promoted the events, and more! * PANELS TSL residents present on the past year of programs in TSL. * TSL residents debate the role of adults in online teen spaces. * Blue and Philip Linden on the past, present and future of TSL. * Representatives from Learn & Serve America and the National Youth Leadership Council speak to teens through a live audio stream on service-learning. * A live video from the annual Global Kids youth conference. * ACTIVITIES Scavenger Hunt on global environmental issues. * GK Birthday Cake Baking Contest. * A tour of the new NOAA Glacier followed by a workshop on global climate change. * Two dance parties * Birthday card signing. * TEEN REPORTS Lucky on the Volcano Eruption. * Lucky on the teen panel on GK programs. * Mariel on assisting the interview with Blue and Philip Linden. * Mariel on the teen debate on the role of adults in teen second life. * Jay on running the Cake Contest. * Mat reports on the Scavenger Hunt. * Nic385 on running the dance parties. * Idan from the Virtual Video Project writes about filming the Global Kids conference for an entire day, and streaming it into Second life. * Birthday messages left on the GK TSL Answering Machine. * Mercury, the Global Kids Intern, reports on his personal highlights. * MULTIMEDIA View over 100 photos within seven photosets on Flickr. * Learn and Serve America and the National Youth Leadership Council podcast. * Machinima birthday card from TSL resident.

  • Teen Second Life no longer exists. Teens 16-17 can now participate in the main grid of Second Life like anyone else.
