Abdullah Bulbul Ameer, a comical and satirical song from the pen of Percy French. james N. Healy, the great Cork musical archivist is the source for the lyrics of this version and he claims that these are the original words. This is a short clip from a session that Moses Bridge (This incarnation was Tim Browne (bouzoukis, fiddle, vocals) and Eoin Jordan (bouzouki, guitar, vocals) at the Trades Union Hall, Kanturk, Co. Cork, Ireland in October 2008 as part of Féile Dúthalla 2008. The session followed a great talk by Fr. John J. Ó Riordáin whose topic on the night was "A Tragic Troubadour" Life and Collected Works of Folklorist, Poet and Translator Edward Walsh". It was a great night and we partied till early morning..

thanks for your comments. i've just recorded this song on a new album called Crossing the Waves. The acoustics are so because they were captured on a basic handycam at a live hall gig last year. I am Irish born and bred............
