Ken was written as the perfect traditional Japanese leader-type -- meaning that while Jun was quite obviously attracted to him, he had no time for such "nonsense". Silly, but it's a cultural thing...

Sorry, iangl, I deleted your comment for "Ken/Rumi and Jun/Koji romantic scenes" accidentally :(((( So, I reply here.
It seems to many people that Ken and Jun have feelings for each other, particularly Jun, but at the same time there aren`t any strong evidences in the series that they are together. Sometimes, it doesn`t seem at all, that they are in love, particularly Ken.

I am a Ken/Jun shipper too and if I draw Gatchaman pics, they are always together :-) But in some episodes (like these ones) it seems that Ken doesn`t pay attention to Jun`s feelings at all. Poor girl...
