No. This is not "Real 8 bit". The only real 8 bit sound is produced through the original hardware sound chip. This is merely a midi soundfont which you ran through a software FM synthesizer. The whole point in converting classics like the Doom soundtrack IS to actually take the song and optimize it for a specific era chip and play the finished product with it. Because the hardware never quite did exactly pure waves. This is a start. But has a long way to go to become REAL 8 BIT sound.
