I'm very gratefull to you for the music you post on the tube and I have the highier exstimation for your musical tastes, so I'm deeply surprised you put together with Respighi and Strauss Mahler's music ... If Mahler's music is trivial i sincerely don't understand anything of music :)

@tthorfinnn That's a very good was of putting it. My favourite pieces by him are exactly that type. New sounds, seemingly impossible sounds full of expression. Lontano and Atmospheres along with this piece are at the top of my list. The Requiem and Lux Aeterna use the voice in such a unique way you'd think you were hearing music from another universe, beings from another dimension.

I have also felt this effect with his cello concerto. I am deeply interested in hearing works that sound electronic or electroacoustic without being, or modified through a ring modulator. The version of this cello concerto with L'ensemble intercontemporain dir. by Boulez is better, reinforces all this aspect greatly.

This music have deep impact on the recording of electrical activity along my scalp produced by the firing of neurons within the brain.
Expecially theta and delta waves.
Only few Ligeti's compositions have these effect.
The result is falling asleep sweetly WITHOUT any kind of narcotic. Few side effects. One of them is nausea when listening to trivial Late-Romantic music (see Mahler, Respighi and/or Richard Strauss)
