1. S90's sensor is not better than LX3's.
2. S90 isnt better than LX3, specially because of the zoom, the more zoom, the more lenses, the more lenses, the worse resolution, quality, and less aperture range.
Resume: LX3 beats S90 by far.

@ddrmaxgt37, the sensor is circa the same size. what really matters is the imaging processor, the lens itself, and of course the algorithm which converts the collected data to an image.

@AaronThyon I'd say the best compact for this price range is now the Canon S90. I'd go with that since it has a better zoom range than the lx3 and has a far superior sensor than the panasonics.
