Video on how to record loops only the fly with Ableton Live. I'm using a M-Audio Axiom 49 and Behringer FCB1010 to control the program. Guest appearance by my cat Skank.

  • is it possible to switch to other presets or banks on fcb1010 while playing in ableton live set? ... or you have only 10 different channels to trigger functions in set?

  • @benogec yes you absolutely can

  • @WAYSIDEDRIVE i wasn't precise enough before so i'll ask again to be sure... in ONE live set you can use 1000 different channels (10 banks with 10 presets with 10 chanels)?

  • @benogec I'm not really a MIDI guy so I'm not sure exactly the channel use specifically. I just know each of the 10 pedals can be programmed to a specific MIDI control # and with 10 banks that should give you 100 different functions you can perform within a single Ableton Live set.

  • @WAYSIDEDRIVE Aha. Just one thing more - can you assign expression pedals too and can you assign them for every bank invidually or are they global - same for all banks? Thank you very much and I wish you all the best in your music career!

  • @benogec yes and yes! You can assign them as well and have different assignments for each bank which is REALLY nice. So in Bank 1 Exp A could be master volume and Exp B could be guitar volume and in Bank 2 Exp A could be synth volume and Exp B could be a setting on the synth, and so on and so on for each back. And thanks!

  • @warchild1976 you can manually program the FCB1010 but I found there is software out there that will do all that for you which is MUCH easier. I have a Mac and use iFCB which is pretty inexpensive. If you have a PC I think there are a few options out there. iFCB comes with an Ableton-specific settings group.

  • hi there I have the exact same set up but im a bit lost setting up the fcb1010 with ableton would you be able to send me your settings or setup what you are doing is exactly what i want to do record loops in ableton with my guitar and vocals hope you can help thanks

  • @sonicmaiky I'm using an Edirol FA66 for my audio interface which is a firewire connect and it has a pretty low latency. It's next to impossible to completely eliminate latency when you're running through a computer, you just have to get the best interface and computer RAM you can afford.

  • Hello Jeremy. Great loop.

Wanted to ask, what sound card do you use and do you think is it possible to illuminate letancy

in MIDI or Audio without quality loose?
