90% of the problems in the field are (The CUSTOMERS own wiring) but they are too cheap to get the house re-wired by an electrician or do it themselves, they would rather bitch and try to get it done for free. and let me guess because you pay your bill every month Comcast shout do it because it's their service. well let me ask you if you have a bad power outlet do you call the power company to fix it?? NO!

Call their corporate office 215-665-1700 and ask to speak with Brian Roberts. This will get you into the office of the president. Ask to speak with Farrah Lively -

Comcast is just greedy and for money. I only have it only for the internet now. Sooner or later that will change too.

As a prev tech4, i can say many issues it could be; from bad ends, bad wire, or someone stealin cable. Most problems like that are easily solved but takes time to find(time is a luxury we never had BTW). Its a bad combination from techs havin to hurry to find issues or bad wiring in home or possibly on the main hardlines. Most cases if u live in apartmment or condos where all wiring is in one group, then ur neighbors installer could be accidentally cause issue by reducing your signal/ppl stealn

If all you have ever used is comcast services, then of course you'd think they even count. People who fled from them thank their stars they avoided years of lure and abuse. This is true, if you are considering services, you will be supernaturally fortunate if you don't start with them. If you have them, switch away with confidence! All of their services are disgraceful and exploitative. CHECK, don't just read something and remain stuck were you are; your kids deserve your money, not failures!

COMCAST HAS HORRIBLE REPS AND THEY ARE LIARS. TOLD ME I COULD PAY HALP MY BILL AND THEY WOULD WAIT A WEEK. LIED TO GET HALP THE MONEY AND SHUT OFF SERVICE NEXT DAY. HORRIBLE BUSINESS PRACTICES.

i love how everyone thinks thjey need an amp right away, it could be a ton of issues, bad fttings, errors on the line, tap behind the box, low mer, but most likely its low signal so if its not low at the ped,mdu or pole then a normal tech should be able to fix this problem i fix problems like this every day .. im a comm tech 3 in jersey and problems like this although sometimes may be difficult to find the problem 99% of the time can be fixed no problem

SCIENTIFIC ATLANTIC CABLE BOXES SUCK MY DICK! THEY ARE HUNKS OF SHIT!
And yet all you have to do is ask for a boost of the signal and it won't cost you a dime for the tech to come out to do this but rather people would rather complain. Typical.

Actually, this was with a signal booster already being used. This problem went on for quite a while, through 5 tech visits, 3 of which they tried to charge me for. They also tried to charge me for the booster, which I refused to pay. I finally got the charge taken away for only after spending almost 2 hours on the phone with what Comcast loosely calls "customer service".

I'm sorry that seeing this strikes such a nerve with you, but I was very frustrated after having sub-standard service for many months without adequate customer service and while still getting charged full subscriber rates.

other electrical devices may be interfering with your receiver, this can go as far back as to the circuit board. you may want to ask for a different model of a receiver sometimes they hve that available

That's something even they didn't mention or think about. Thanks for the good tip. Fortunately, as of last weekend, I don't have to deal with Comcast anymore, which is pretty much a blessing, but I might have to again in the future, so it's good to have another possible remedy if I run into this problem again.
