this will sound stupid but how does it help the climbers to rope together if there are no safety ropes? Does it protect them in some way? Sorry I don't know anything about Rock Climbing

@fan1odw I think the top guy puts clips on the rock as he goes up and the bottom guy removes them when he gets to them. That way they can't fall very far. I am probably completely wrong though as I also know nothing about rock climbing.

I actually just bought my RS4 a week ago and I do have to agree with everything that Jeremy says. The car is not quite as sharp feeling as my STi was, but it gives you so much confidence in the corners that even a bad driver can look like a pro with it.

@BrillianceoftheMoon rock shoes can be very tight fittying, my mate got blisters from his, so they take the shoes off when they are not climbing to relief the pressure, his shoes will have velcro to make it easier to remove

@BenSteigerwald thats basically right, the top guy lead climbs up, if he falls the bottom guy catchs the rope using a belay plate and the clips shorten the amount that the top climber can fall. In reverse the top climber anchors in and belay the bottom climber while he climbs up, he unclips the kit for the next leg of the climb.

I just saw this on BBC America. Hilarious. I'm a climber and it's always surprising how little the general public actually knows about what's going on during a climb. We're not a bunch of speed freaks who just say "dude" all of the time. I'm just glad Leo and his partner won, but the road wasn't closed to others, so it might have been different. That being said, no one climbs a route like this just to get to the top quickly, or get to the top at all. Climbing is very much about the journey.

Take for example the new Audi S4: Audi S4 3,0 TFSI V6 333 Hk 6-speed manual: 1 200 600 NOK, which is equivalent to 132773,01 GBP. :P

I know that people in Norway earn a lot of money, but taking into consideration that everything else you need is expensive as well I hardly doubt that I ever will be able to buy such a car.

But there are a lot less lucky people than me in this world, so I guess I shouldn't complain. =/
