On that first turn at 0:37, EVERY time I try to do a long jump, I just touch the fence and slow down and do a crouching jump. -_- After that I'm just like "forget it" and jumped off. XD

Good question. I know they'll release some star bits if you happen to run into them. Maybe the same will happen if you shoot them with one too, though it'll be tough to hit a moving target.
