Here is a panoramic view of the stadium at the West Side Tennis Club, former home of the US Open Tennis Championship. The last US Open was held at Forest Hills in 1977 and won by Guillermo Vilas.

  • i play here everyday and they ruined it, its now a piece of shit from poor maintenence

  • @MrDrewspy That is a shame because it is such a beautiful stadium with the history. They just let it go to seed? How shortsighted. How about the other courts? are they kept up?

  • Im 17 years old, how much would it cost for me to become a member and play tennis here?

  • @carloshehe I'm not a member so I can't say for sure. The best place to check is the web site for the West Side Tennis Club. I am sure it is very expensive.

  • I would love any footage of Forest Hills and the stadium as it was back in the day! I was there once and was trying to imagine what it was like when there was a big tournament there. If you can send any footage, I would love to see it.

  • Oh yes, definately a Grandstand!

With "single camera coverage" by CBS/TV.

  • I don't recall meeting Arthur Ashe but I certainly met Chrissy Evert, Jimmy Conners, John McEnroe, Howard Cosell, Dustin Hoffman, Jim Bouton.

I have films of the place from the early 1970s probably a world exclusive. I saw The Beatles there on August 28, 1964 and many other ancients. If you'd like to see screen freezes on the grass court let me know.

  • I would love to have been there when there was a grass court and to have seen a US Open there. I heard that there was a grandstand court back in those days also. Did you meet Arthur Ashe there? He used to be at Forest Hills each year.

  • When I worked here it had a grass court.
