  • wow thats a very pretty tegu

  • @reptileboii44

    thanks

  • so hwo exactly do these reptiles kill their prey?? just thrash it around to knock it out or snap the neck?

  • @1gamoguy

    good question

they stun by thrashing, killing them is a bonus, then they either crack their neck, spine, or crushing their head.

the thrashing can kill and break bones

    its surprisingly effective.

he is way bigger now and can kill the mouse the instant his mouth touches it because he goes strait for the head and crunches it.

also i got a new homestead florida wild caught tegu thats not native so i get to keep it, not so bad their smart when and when i fed him he realized im nice

  • Personally, I don't think a 3 week old Tegu should be eating Fuzzies yet! It's FAR too big for him!!! Mine is 8months old, and eating Fuzzies, soon to be moving up.

Also, you shouldn't feed it livefood that is actually alive - it fights back, and couls injure your Tegu!

    Just my 2pence worth.

  • @HeulynValaVika than theres a problem because they eat carrion (dead and/or rotting meat) in the wild dont feed him for a week and give him a frozen thawed ret or mouse and hell take it

  • What I don't quite get is at about 2:00, the fuzzy suddenly went totally dead, which seems rather sudden considering its struggles before then. Sudden head trauma? Too many organs crunched that it went to shock? I wonder.

Also, I sometimes worry about pet keepers who feed their pets with food that are noticably too big... come now, that mouse is the size of the tegu's head.... Hope the tegu's ok after that.

  • @mrKYAO1 ya he is right they get really big they need an 8x4x4 tank. they prefer 3 UVB lights a heat lamp baskin rock etc. they need lots of time but not to much and cost 50$ for a columbian B/W 120$ or a argntine B/W argentine grow bigger. you can buy them at an exotic pet shop or online.

  • @mrKYAO1

you need to do alot of research you dont know the species name or propper care.

    they get big

can get very aggessive, needs to be held as often as possible and need large cages.

the food cost is a continuously rising problem and learning the tegus body language can be difficult for a first time large lizard keeper

  • @HeulynValaVika mine is 3 almost 4 months and eats small mice, no longer fuzzies or pinkies, with out one problem

  • son of a bitch

  • ok thanks for the reply! ive never even heard of this speicies of lizard before they look really cool and the markings are unbelievable, do these get as big as iguannas? or bigger?
