I was one of the lucky ones in the US to have seen Marillion early in the Fish era. They opened for Rush at Radio City Music Hall in 1983...one of the best concerts I have ever seen.
While I do enjoy the Hogarth Marillion, the Fish-era will always be very special to me.

when i lived in gateshead in 1990 i lived above some real scum who would argue, shout and fight all hours until one saturday evening - I remember playing this intro with the speakers on the floor, over and over and over for hours - never heard from them again - it still makes me happy thinking about it. I was upstairs conducting the band whilst those swines were downstairs, broom in hand banging on the floor to no effect. Sweet....

I bet the guy at 0:14, now all grown up, is desperately hoping his kids never find this video.

no. the intro is"La gazza Ladra","The Thieving Magpie"

That kind of bass is so ugly that ought to be forbidden and its pervert and psycho creator ought to be tortured to death.

And still nothing beats a gig at Loreley.....looking forward to "Night of the Prog" 2012

@cozytekton I was there, of course great music however a lot of addictis, suppose addiction is called the reason why they are divided, A Joyful, Relentless Eternal Life In Goddess' Limitless Love

must have annoyed a lot my mom to buy me the Overtures from ROSSINI when I was a teenager (she bought it instead of meat or food perhaps as I need(ed) Music as sunshine for others..)
So GOOD to ear 'La Pie Voleuse' loud while waiting, heart pounding, for Marillion members to begin their gigs as here.
Like the painted faces in the crowd though Fish had yet let down this habit...
Most of all wish I was here !!! (great show from a VHS tape no longer legible)
w/ enlarged screen+earphones= : D

This is how you open up a concert!

I could watch this until eternity! The Fish era was painting its own generation and those whos growed up with this Music got especially feelings in their hearts!^^
This piece of music is actually called
"La gazza Ladra", not "Intro"
It featured on Marillion's live 2CD set of the same name.
Thanks for the post, regardless :)
