mine did the same thing today.....thats how i found this video....i tried the eraser and that didnt work....my battery is 5 years old...i guess its time for a new one
we need widespread consumer protest systems where all customer complaints get gathered into a single gesture at cost-cutting CEOS and middle managers whose lives go on hold during a mass protest against pieces of crapp like these cameras. else, nothing changes.
I've been frustrated with the exact same problem. Solution is simple. After months of fighting the stupid thing JVC finally emailed me back. Just use a regular pencil eraser and clean all contacts. It worked for me. I had tried cleaning them with alcohol first thing but it did nothing. Stupid eraser worked though. Whatever. It's worth a try and that is literally what the JVC tech told me to try.
I had the same problem, what you should do is that when the camera is trying to communicate with the battery, you give shots (soft) top to bottom, and the battery will be recognized. The camera will not monitor battery power and display simpre low load, but load it and can burn.

its a code in the battery that has to match the camcorder buy a cheap one off ebay and it comes with a little cable that goes out of the battery and into the camera charging port put a piece of tape over the battery connectors and put on battery plug in cable and there you go fixed.i have a jvc everio 120gb
