  • Life is not a dress rehearsal; Life is what you make of it; God helps those who helps themselves. To live in a first world country is to have the best of what life can offer and to squander this is a sin, in a religious and non religious sense. Everyone should try and live with virtue and honour, and in so doing would not God see this and welcome you into the Kingdom of Heaven, no matter what you believed? If not, stop waiting for something better (aka Heaven) and make a Heaven here and now

  • Interesting way of looking at it. =)

  • You know my beliefs Rob. But yeah, i believe in an afterlife and I guess I'm much like Shawna with that the "die and there's nothing" theory frightens me.

What i wonder about is a christian's opinion on what happens to those who haven't been able to have the good news shared to them. For example, a community living on an isolated island who have never heard of Jesus. Would they go to hell?

  • Its a very good point, I wonder about that too, and about those who deotedly follow another relegion

  • i am a christian(catholic) and i do believe in the afterlife and like shawna i am actually frightened of the possibility that we are just her once and there is nothing else.. just darkeness i find it a tad depressing no offence but im not that religious a person i never ever go to church i dno.. im quite young so my belief could chenge but for the meantime.. thats my belief and i acually nearly clicked out to my subscribtions when u said religion lol thanks -lewis!
  • Yea its a touchy subject to bring up, especially on the internet.

  • I believe in Heaven and hell. But I have a question for you: Do you believe in soulmates, yes or no? If so, do believe that your soulmate is currently alive? I believe if i get to go to Heaven, my soulmate will probably be there. trippinesss! haha just some food for thought. Love the accent, btw :)

  • I'm a Deist, which means that I believe that God is a watchmaker of sorts. I don't believe in Divine Intervention, nor the resurrection of Jesus Christ or that he was anything more than a man. I honestly don't know what I believe about the afterlife and I'm perfectly fine with that. Not knowing what awaits me after death is reassuring. It encourages me to examine life for what it is and to live it with no regrets.

Btw, my family is Protestant in case anyone questioned my religious rearing.

  • I'm an atheist, and most of the people I know are as well... but I do have a few religious friends. I find it funny that they think I'm going to hell for my beliefs. xD

I believe that after we die, we decompose and return to the earth. It's hard for me to believe in something for which there is no proof. To me, believing in a god is like believing in flying unicorns. Sure, they could exist, but I seriously doubt it.

  • First thank you for actually talking about it. I believe there is a God, I believe you will get to heaven or hell, but you have the control for that built in, every man knows immediately when they do good or bad, that twinge u get when u yell at a friend. Follow your inner voice, try not to wrong others, help when you can, do no harm and you will not only have a very nice life, but if there is an after life you will join others of a like mind. God bless.

  • almost EVERY religion is backed up somehow. And religion is only frowned upon bcoz people have made it that way cause there on crack. no joke, alot of athiests happen to smoke. dont get me wrong theres a lot of smokers with their head on right.

  • I'm here supporting you!!!

    WE DECOMPOSE WHEN WE DIE

    that's my belief.

  • Well, you can believe whatever you wish.

How can a creator have no logic if there be logic to the universe? How can the divinity of creation not have law, when the universe has laws?

A creator cannot equal nothing because all that can be had from nothing is only nothing.

A vacuum is not nothing, nor is the universe or the ocean or the human mind. So that who created those things cannot be nothing.

  • That is exactly what im saying, I believe that the creator defies logic, divinity does not obey law. In my opinion the creator is just there, it IS nothingness.

  • Illogical. Nothing can never be something, they are opposites. Were this Universe 'nothing' it would not exist.

The Creator cannot be nothing or emptiness, because without something this universe could not exist.

I suggest you watch Sagan's video on understanding dimensions to better understand this 4-D space/time. Our Creator sees all that exists to us and exists everywhere, simultaneously.

Perhaps your afterlife is your desire, so I would at least consider and then choose wisely.

  • Have you ever considered that nothing is something? Nothing doesn't just have to be nothing it can be a way of describing emptiness and that nothing is ACTUALLY what is percieved to be God, the Universe was created when the big bang happened which was caused by: Nothing, what was there before the Big Bang: Nothing. Nothing is God. God is Emptiness. What happens in the afterlife: Nothing. God does not exist yet it is there. What happens in the afterlife: Nothing.
